I was able to feel it through the package and it is thick foam that is squishy and would be fun to toss around. I am sure they will eventually but for now they want it on display in their room. You are paying a little more for the Star Wars theme of it so if you have a child that doesn’t care about Star Wars, I’d honestly check out some of the other Angry Bird playsets. The 12 pieces it includes are adorable and surprisingly we haven’t lost any of them! I highly recommend a ziploc bag for them! This is a set of blocks, 12 Angry Bird pieces, and a launcher. Then he took over the launcher and made those birds fly! I was amazed with how far the birds could actually fly! It is a neat idea and very cute. My son loved the freedom to set up the blocks and create his own piggy fortress. There are guideline examples to follow, but basically your child can build it however they want.
